What is Mailoplex Server?
A mail server with calendar, contacts and tasks for businesses. To Outlook and smartphones it behaves like Microsoft Exchange. We run it for you in Germany.
Who is Mailoplex for?
For small and medium-sized businesses that work with Outlook and need shared calendars and shared mailboxes, but don’t want to run their own Exchange server or move to the Microsoft cloud.
Outlook and devices
Do I still need a Microsoft licence?
For Outlook itself, yes, for example from Microsoft 365 Apps or Office. You no longer need an Exchange licence or a Microsoft 365 mailbox.
Does the new Outlook for Windows work?
Not at the moment. Microsoft does not support Exchange servers outside Microsoft 365 in the new Outlook. Classic Outlook works fully and is still available.
Does Mailoplex work on mobile phones?
Yes. iPhone, iPad and Android connect to the built-in mail app via ActiveSync. Mailoplex Web also runs in the phone’s browser.
Migration
Can I keep my email addresses?
Yes. Your domain and all addresses stay the same. Only the DNS records that point to the mail server change.
What happens to my old emails?
We transfer emails, folders, calendars and contacts from Exchange or Microsoft 365. Your old system keeps running until the switch-over.
How long does the migration take?
That depends on the number of mailboxes and the amount of data. In the first meeting we give you a schedule. We usually do the actual switch-over in an evening or at a weekend.
Security and contract
Where are the servers?
In a data centre in Nuremberg, with backups also in Germany. Your contractual partner is INFONET Computer GmbH in Cologne.
How often is my data backed up?
Every night, encrypted and stored in a separate location. We keep daily versions for a week, weekly versions for a month and monthly versions for a year.
Do I get a data processing agreement?
Yes. We conclude a data processing agreement with you under Art. 28 GDPR.
Is there a sending limit?
Every mailbox has an hourly sending limit. It prevents a stolen password from being abused for spam. In normal office work you won’t notice it. For newsletters, talk to us.
How much does Mailoplex cost?
Pricing depends on the number of mailboxes and the modules you book. Ask for a quote and we will come back with a concrete price.
